About Naxa

Nasser Nabende best known by his business name Naxa was born and raised in Rubaga division of Kampala district where he attended City Parents School (currently known as…..) For his Primary education. Later on He would join Ntare school located in Mbarara district for his High school and thereafter successfully enrolled into Makerere University in 2014 to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology.
It was in 2018 that Naxa officially released his first single titled “Change” which enabled him capture a decent amount of attention as the single would enjoy a fair share of airplay on both Christian and mainstream media platforms. As a consequence Naxa witnessed a tremendous growth in the size of his fan base and with that came a demand for more music. It was at this point that Naxa decided to record his first studio album named after its lead single “Change ” which was released in July 2019. The Record was engineered by Baru who is a producer at Dustville Records located in Kiwatule and comprises ten songs.
Naxa has been able to perform on a number of reputable platforms such as the 2019 African Block chain Conference which was attended by over 3000 delegates including Heads of state like H. E. Julius Maasa Bio (Sierra Leon) and H. E. Yoweri Museveni (Uganda). Naxa has also opened up for concerts headlined by the some of the most influential gospel artists in our time a case in point, when he opened up for renowned gospel sensation Don Moen at the 2019 edition of Kampala Praise Festival and also for Gospel artist Levixone’s Charity concert dubbed “Levixone Kosovo Home coming Concert” organized in Kosovo, one of the slums in Kampala aimed at raising funds to provide clean water supply for the community of Kosovo.
Currently, Naxa is an award nominated Christian Rap artist with two award nominations in the 2020 MTN Ug Hip hop awards for both album of the year and Rookie of the year as well as two more nominations in the 2020 Vine awards for the listeners’ choice album of the year and best new artist.

His music is mainly characterized by catchy hooks, coherent lyrics and groovy instrumentation which appeals mainly to the youth and young adults who dominate majority of his target audience considering the fact that this demographic makes up a large percentage of Uganda’s population.

Naxa’s recent project which also doubles as his debut studio album titled ‘’CHANGE ‘’ received great critical acclaim in both the Hip hop and Mainstream Ugandan music circles earning two nominations for album of the year in both the Ug Hip hop awards and Vine awards. The main theme of the album is emphasized by the slogan ‘’ Change begins with me’’ which depicts that it only takes one individual to be an agent of change in any sphere of life.
Besides music, Naxa serves as a youth pastor at Miracle center Cathedral under the Robert Kayanja Ministries and has access to a large audience both within the church and on television through Channel 44 Tv.
Being the visionary that he is, Naxa always strives to attain excellence and uniqueness in his music as evidneced in the quality audio production of his studio projects and stunning videos.
